What is ₳?
₳ is ada, the currency built into Cardano, the network this platform runs on. If you scanned a code at an event and ended up here, this explains what you actually received and what a wallet does with it. Nothing below assumes you have used crypto before.
What a wallet holds
A wallet app does not hold a balance the way a banking app does, tracking a number in its own database. The actual record lives on the Cardano ledger, shared and public. Your wallet holds the keys that prove which parts of that ledger are yours, and it is what you use to see your balance and to authorise sending anything from it.
What happens when you claim
Finishing a claim creates or uses an address, something that looks like this: addr1qxy2kgdygjrsqtzq2n0yrf2493p83kkfjhx0wlh. Whatever you were given, ₳ or a native token, is sent there in a single transaction. From that point it is yours: nobody, including Onboard.Ninja, can take it back or reverse it.
